The Impart Lockdown Alert System (iLAS) siren emits a distinct series of warning sounds at about 135 decibels, at a frequency that will cut through the background din of even the noisiest school playground or a factory or warehouse. Because the iLAS siren sounds are different from those generally used for fire alarms, school bells or hooters, and emergency vehicle sirens, minimal training will quickly result in these sounds being associated with an emergency lockdown condition. Activated by a wireless handheld remote control from anywhere within 100 metres of a siren base station, Safety Wardens are able to operate the system from anywhere in a campus grounds. Several remotes can be spread around the site for access by authorised users. And there are no complex button sequences to learn - just press the alert sound you need and the system does the rest. iLAS wireless remote controls are security coded, so they only activate sirens in that network. The security coing also prevents the system being hacked and activated/deactivated by an unauthorised user. Once a siren base station is activated, it wirelessly communicates to all other sirens in that coded network (ie on that campus site), activating them within seconds. It's that simple.
Best of all, installation is so easy. Just mount the siren (or sirens, depending on the system) on an outside wall (or inside if preferred) to give you the desired coverage, connect the siren amplifiers to a 240V power supply, test the system using the remotes to ensure you have coverage from anywhere within the premises, and then post the wall advisory plaques in rooms or corridors as required. That's it. |
